Австралийские туристы отказываются от Европы
14 May, 2016
Fear of terrorism, the weak dollar and more interesting offers elsewhere forced Australians to abandon Europe's selection as a place to rest.
Latest figures from the Australian Bureau of statistics show, the number of visitors steadily popular countries, such as Italy, Greece and Turkey declined from 12 before 35 per cent during the first three months 2016 year.
France, Switzerland, Spain and Croatia are also experiencing recession after urgent warnings about possible acts of terrorism, such as attack on Paris in November last year.
At the same time, the Australian dollar fell against the euro, and now just 64 cents, thereby allowing travelers budget segment select them malodostupnye, but it is much more exciting for them direction, such as Bali and New Zealand.
Sydney Tourism Technology University Lecturer David Beirman says, that concerns about terrorism and crisis, caused by Syrian refugees, no doubt, made Europe a less attractive destination for Australians.
«Have you heard about terrorism in one part of Europe and your perception seems to spread and other parts of Europe, that seem dangerous to you», говорит г-н Бейрман.
«When there is at least a little uncertainty in long-haul holiday destinations, people tend to travel closer to home and to places, which they perceive as more welcoming and safe.»
He says, that the exchange rate will also have a big negative impact on the selection of Australians in Europe as the venue for the holidays.
