Lake Gregory (Gregory) – closed lake located in the north-east Western Australia. This is – freshwater lake, but can become salty after several dry years.
In dry years, the level of salt in the water varies from 0,1 ‰ to 82 ‰. , last 25 years withered only twice.
The lake is home to about 174 invertebrate species, fish, crustaceans and rotifers. , than reported in other Australian arid zone lakes , this is probably due to the prolonged flooding with fresh water.
The lake is one of the most important habitat and breeding of many species of water birds, including cormorants, Krack and Plover.
