Lake Torrens

Торренс ( Torrens) – the second largest salt lake in Australia undrained. located in the states South Australia, in 345 km north of Adelaide. Specified area of the lake is quite relative, as in the past 150 years, it is completely filled with water only once.
The lake is open to Edward Eyre 1839, subsequent 20 years it was, that Lake Torrens - a huge shallow salt lake in the shape of a horseshoe, surrounding the northern Flinders Ranges and blocks the way to the interior of the country.
Now the lake is part of the national parks of Australia, to do that requires a special permit.
