Entrance to the festival includes entrance to the free unlimited chairlift, so a lot of people took this opportunity, to explore the peak, Central Spar / Spur, and take a two-hour walk to Mount Kosciuszko.
Mountain cyclists could take advantage of the easy climb up the mountain and extreme, quite complicated 37 km down the Alpine terrain.
I met a couple from Sydney's northern beaches, who attended the festival every year during the 14 Years. Last year they even invited all their friends here and tied the knot.
The family atmosphere of Thredbo Resort extends to the participants of the Blues Festival, some of whom brought their children. Festival-goers could also order dinner at one of the 17 Thredbo restaurants and enjoy blues music, while they were having dinner.
We dined at Australia's tallest restaurant (1937 m above sea level) accompanied by emotional and powerful reflections of former singer Genevieve Chadwick.
Weather conditions at this altitude are never predictable. When we went up to the restaurant in a closed gondola, we watched flashes of lightning and had time before the approaching storm. Luckily we were riding in a gondola with an electrical engineer., who assured us, that the ascent will be suspended above the ground during a thunderstorm, A what, As a matter of fact, much safer, than being on the ground.
In the Eagle's Nest, restaurant located on top of the mountain, we ordered a delicious meal with four dishes, and watched, how we were gripped by a thunderstorm with hail. But after a few minutes the storm passed, and on the mountain ranges there was a beautiful sunset.
A beautiful end to a wonderful weekend at the Thredbo Blues Festival.
